The 2013 NFPT/SCRI field day was successfully held in the Northern Plains Potato Growers Association building on Oct 8th and 9th at East Grand Forks, MN. Twenty-four people attended the meeting, including researchers, breeders, processing industry representatives, and grower association representatives. David Parish hosted the meeting and gave an update on ongoing activities of NFPT, especially consumer attribute test of the advanced clones that have high potential of producing reduced acrylamide during frying. A.J. Bussan gave a presentation on update of the nationwide SCRI-acrylamide project, particularly the SCRI agronomic trials. Seventy-eight clones from the five trial sites of 2013 NFPT were displayed and evaluated by the attendees. Several achievements were made during this meeting.
