Duties:
Funding is from a USDA-NIFA Specialty Crops Research Initiative (SCRI) project for the
development of potato varieties with low acrylamide in processed products. The research
associate will be responsible for computing BLUPs for agronomic and potato tuber quality traits
from multi-environment trials. Phenotypic data will be combined with pedigree and marker data,
both from SNP arrays and genotyping-by-sequencing, to identify marker-trait associations in
elite tetraploid germplasm and to compare the accuracy of genome-wide prediction models. The
research associate is expected to publish the results of this research in refereed journals.
Required:
PhD in plant breeding, genetics, or related fields.
Experience with mixed model analysis.
Desired:
Experience using R.
Familiarity with methods for association mapping and genomic selection.
